THE PARTY

THE LEGENDARY JUJUBEATS RAVE IN THE MOUNTAINS WAS A FABLED EVENT IN CALI RAVE CULTURE, UNITING THOUSANDS UNDER NEON LIGHTS.

ONE MORNING IN 1999, A GROUP OF FRIENDS DIED TRAGICALLY WHEN THEIR CAR PLUNGED OFF A CLIFF ON THE WAY HOME FROM ONE OF THESE OVERNIGHT PARTIES.

THIS TRAGEDY MARKED THE END OF JUJUBEATS.

IN THE FOLLOWING YEARS, THE POPULARITY OF RAVE CULTURE BEGAN TO FADE...

THE STORY

SET IN ONE NEON-SOAKED OVERNIGHT RAVE, FOUR FRIENDS EMBARK ON A EUPHORIC NIGHT OF MUSIC, LOVE, AND DREAMS. VAL LEARNS TO NEVER MEET YOUR HEROES, AND LEARNS HER RELATIONSHIP WITH JOEY IS NOT WHAT SHE THOUGHT. JOEY GETS SWEPT UP IN THE ENERGY OF HIS FIRST RAVE, REALIZING IT WASN’T VAL’S VALIDATION HE SOUGHT, BUT HIS OWN. FOR MARIE, THE LINE BETWEEN ART AND LIFE GETS DANGEROUSLY BLURRY, AND DUSTIN’S BUSINESS ASPIRATIONS AND COOL-GUY IMAGE LAND HIM IN DEEP TROUBLE. AS DAWN APPROACHES, THE FLEETING NATURE OF YOUTH COLLIDES WITH HARSH REALITY, LEADING TO A TRAGIC ENDING THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING.

THE APPROACH

FOREVER FOR NOW IS A FICTIONAL STORY INSPIRED BY A REAL EVENT TOLD WITH ARCHIVAL FOOTAGE FROM THE NIGHT IT HAPPENED COMBINED SEAMLESSLY WITH ORIGINAL MATERIAL. THE FILM EXPLORES THE FLEETING NATURE OF YOUTH, SET AGAINST THE ALSO EPHEMERAL WORLD OF 90’S RAVE CULTURE. THIS TRAGICOMIC COMING-OF-AGE STORY IMMERSES THE AUDIENCE IN THE EUPHORIA OF THE MOMENT, FOLLOWING OUR CHARACTERS INTIMATELY THROUGH THE LAST NIGHT OF THEIR LIVES.

WITH 90S RAVE MUSIC AND AESTHETICS RESURGING IN POP CULTURE, FOREVER FOR NOW WILL CONNECT PAST AND PRESENT BY FEATURING APPEARANCES FROM ARTISTS SUCH AS FRED AGAIN, JAMIE XX, SKRILLEX, AND CHARLI XCX.
